Draft Biodiversity Technical Guidelines

This page hosts the current drafts of a series of biodiversity technical advice guidelines for community projects. This is a NZ Landcare Trust project funded from the Biodiversity Advice Fund.

Introduction

These operational planning guidelines are intended to provide support at the planning level for landcare groups and other interested parties.  It draws on and adapts current “best practice” approaches from various sources.

There has been a focus on the Northland situation in preparing this information. It will often be possible to apply the information nationally but it is acknowledged that there are regional differences in management and project foci. Users of these guidelines should always use the information carefully and seek advice to check their approaches. While our best efforts have been made, no guarantee can be provided of the completeness or accuracy of the information in these guidelines. As management and monitoring techniques are continually being refined and new ones being developed, this document will evolve over time.
